I bought a Tracker Grizzly about 6 weeks ago. I've been having a lot of problems with it. Mostly bad welds and rivets popping loose. I'm going to try to get the dealer to replace the boat as defective. Has anyone here had experience with these boats? Is it likely that I just got a bad one? I like the design and Tracker always had a good reputation. The last 6 weeks have made me more than a little nervous about Tracker quality. Any thoughts?

If you have any problems with the dealer, go straight to the manufacturer. If they give you any problems, then contact your local TV station. Most have a section that deals with consumer complaints and when they start asking questions, all the problems seem to just disappear. Good luck. May GOD bless your hunting days, the Thumb MI

If it is only six weeks old, I would take it back and insist on my money back or a replacement and keep on them until you are satisfied. Topgun----30-06

I'm going there today to talk to the manager. I don't think the corporate office will be much help. I wrote a letter to them about another issue and never got a response. I guess my concern now is the reliability of Tracker boats in general. Maybe I just got one built on a Monday, but, if they have a quality control department, it should have been caught.

Thought I should give an update. After talking to the manager at the local dealership, I was assured he would look into the situation and get back to me. He did call me back the next day and told me the boat was being repaired. That was 11 days ago. They had already had the boat a week. I stopped there this morning and no one could tell me anything. I sent an e-mail to the manager tonight when I got home from work. Told him that if this boat was such a wreck that it couldn't be repaired in three weeks, I wanted my money back. There is no way I'm going to feel safe in that thing. I've been very patient........until now.

This Tracker dealer in Auburn , NY can't keep track of all of his lies. First he said they had pulled the floor and checked all the welds the first time I brought it in. Now he admits that they didn't. He called on the 9th and told me the boat was almost ready. Today he told me they had just gotten the floor pulled up two days ago. Now he says he needs to talk to a regional warranty manager to see what they want to do. Probably more BS. I guess it's time to talk to a lawyer. No wonder no one wants to buy American anymore.

I put this in the hands of the Better Business Bureau. I also sent letters to corporate offices of Tracker and Bass Pro. Maybe I'll have a boat to use by spring. I'm thinking if they don't refund my money and give me another boat, I'll trade it in somewhere for a different brand. Maybe I had a "dud", but, after getting jerked around and lied to by this dealer, I wouldn't want to depend on them for warranty.

Tracker finally responded to the Better Business Bureau. It looked like a form letter about how they are working with the dealer to come to an amicable solution. I would imagine Tracker does a lot of this. I suppose the next step will have to be the State Attorney General's office. Tracker and Bass Pro corporate offices didn't even have the courtesy to reply to my letters. I used to think Bass Pro was an honest business.
