Been bowhunting since the opener. Off and on I've been seeing fox both red and grey rambling around out in front of me from ten to fifty yds. The other day I put steel in dirt. This morning I'm up in my treestand (wind 25-30 gusts to supersonic) when I spot movement in the brush about fifty sixty yds. Know it ain't a deer as its only two feet high at the most. Then I spot him its a red fox. Pretty soon he comes meandering down the logging rd towards me. I'd plugged a dirt hole in off the upwind side of the road about twenty yds out front of me. Well, I don't know if he spotted the disturbed area first or got wind of the lure/bait. But he stopped in his tracks and turned towards it bobbin his head up and down sniffin. Then he walked towards the set and stopped had his nose low sniffin. Then he took one more step and I saw that 1 1/2 CS fire. GOT EM!!! Pretty cool never saw a critter of any kind work a set and get pinched. Pretty good rush. Good color too.
