Has anyone had any success loading ballistic tip bullets in .35 Remington for the Contender? I'm sure there are much better loads (flatter shooting) than the ones in my 12th Edition Speer Manual, since there are so many new ballistic tipped (plastic) bullets out these days. I was shooting hand-loaded 220 grain Speer round nose bullets but am unhappy with the 100+ grouping and I'm looking for suggestions to build a better load more suited to a scoped handgun.

I own a Contender, but I don't own a 35 Remington barrel.
My Hornady 7th Edition has some loads using the SSP bullet in 180gr and 200gr. I can list the loads they have based on their info, but I would need to know what powder you are using.

It wouldn't matter, really....I would buy different powder for the right load. As I said, I feel this gun could be far more accurate with a ballistic-tip boattail bullet than the loads my Speer manual lists. The loads they list are more round-tip bullets of 150-180 grains, more suited to lever guns IMHO. I'm thinking something in the 120-150 grain range?
