| | | | Caribou In Quebec | | That night, the skies were clear and I could see every star in the sky, and the Northern Lights were the most amazing thing I have ever seen. My dad and I had the trip of a lifetime, and one that I’ll never forget. | |

Colorado Elk Hunk
NAHC Life Member Hunt
Doug McDougal
I've long dreamed about hunting bugling elk, and my dreams came true in Colorado when I joined a group of NAHC Life Members at Winterhawk Outfitters in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area for the first NAHC Life Member elk bowhunt.

| | | | High-Elevation Bull | | After glassing a deep draw for the better part of the morning, we started following a set of elk tracks through some thick timber. | |
| | | | Lightning Strikes Twice | | I drew my Hoyt and waited for the bull to step clear of the tree. I made some noise to get him to stop and released my arrow. I heard the arrow hit him before he ran off, and quickly cow called and watched as he stopped and looked back for a moment before walking away. | |
| | | | Catching Caribou Fever | | I caught “Caribou Fever” in quebec last year and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to shake it—not that I want to. | |

| | | | A Day I’ll Never Forget | | In 2005 I was in the 5th grade when my grandfather told me he’d take me elk hunting if I made my school’s honor roll. Elk hunting was something I’d always wanted to do, and I wanted to go so badly I not only made the honor roll for the quarter, I made it all year! | |
| | | | A Quest for Caribou | | Caribou are one of the coolest big game animals you’ll ever hunt. A “here today, gone tomorrow” kind of creature, they live in some of the last true remaining wildernesses in North America. | |
| | | | A True Western Adventure | | The hunt began with a 5-mile drive into camp from the main road, which on the surface doesn’t sound like a big deal except for the fact that it takes more than an hour. No, there aren’t a lot of stop lights along the way, but there is a lot of mud, rocks and gullies. | |
| | | | Alaskan Caribou Adventure | | Participating in a North American Hunting Club Membership Drive turned into the hunt of a lifetime for the author and his brother. | |
| | | | Big, Bigger, Biggest | | From Wyoming moose to Canada moose to Alaska-Yukon moose...Jim Shockey describes the differences in hunting these once-in-a-lifetime creatures. | |
| | | | Blake's Bull | | A young man redefines the meaning of determination to fulfill a lifelong hunting dream. | |
| | | | | | Bulls at the Buzzer | | Things get hairy during a mad dash for a bull elk as the last minutes of daylight tick away. | |
